LawAdvisor was founded in 2015 in Melbourne, Australia with a fearless and ambitious belief: that everybody should have access to justice.

We hypothesised that the high costs, inefficiencies, and difficulties of obtaining legal help could be overcome simply by providing greater access to legal information, and by providing everybody with real-time access to high-quality, affordable lawyers online.

Our mission has since been supported by thousands of lawyers and has allowed us to expand and set up offices across the globe. We've also attracted high-profile investors and partners who have shared our mission to transform legal service delivery.

We're still not satisfied. The potential exists to completely revolutionise the practice of law. The start of this decade has delivered LawAdvisor with a new mandate: to overhaul and transform how lawyers work, and how people interact with and consume legal services, with state-of-the-art legal practise management technology to (i) increase efficiencies; (ii) automate routine processes; (iii) increase transparency; (iv) bring the legal practice to the 21st century.

We Need

A Young Sherlock

As a Quality Assurance Intern at LawAdvisor, you'll be the keen-eyed detective ensuring our products meet the highest standards. You'll closely assist full-time QA engineers, playing a vital role in the software testing lifecycle. From testing to problem-solving, you'll take on practical responsibilities in delivering exceptional user experiences.

You never easily let anything slide past your eyes as quality control is a continuous effort throughout the process and daily work, and report to other engineers and leads as soon as you spot inaccuracies.

You actively take part in the discovery phases of new products and assist engineers in promoting continuous testing to guarantee a final product that substantially addresses and meets our users' requirements.

You will contribute to the tightly-knit community between the engineers and product teams to form a collaborative work environment throughout the product life cycle. You can follow scalable strategies in the team.

You Will…

• Work closely with full-time QA engineers to ensure we deliver an exceptional experience to all our users.

• Be as accurate as possible in working with engineers, and be passionate about testing. You consider every possible scenario during exploratory testing and can spot bugs that others might not notice.

• Be given vast opportunities to catch bugs and explore their solutions with engineers. Communication with other teams is vital to ensure that bugs found are prioritised and raised accordingly.

• Develop a knack for learning new things: tech progress is what keeps QA testing exciting; it means a non-stop education for you to keep up with the latest QA strategies, programming languages, testing methods, and tools.

• Be taught to handle and adapt to sudden changes: managing stressful situations and constantly changing plans by objectively adjusting and balancing new and existing workflows.

• Exercise your time management and prioritisation skills: you understand what needs to be done now and what can be delayed. Finding the balance between importance and urgency, according to deadlines and goals, is a key part in practicing an effective test strategy.

• Take part in effective teamwork and collaboration: partner with full-time QA Engineers to improve the activities across the business, and identify opportunities to improve manual testing efficiency and effectiveness.

• Be given opportunities to experience test case designing and automation: Assisting engineers in developing key manual test cases to tactically cover functional and nonfunctional requirements, you are also encouraged to contribute to the improvements to our automation test coverage whenever feasible.

Our Work Setup

• Work shift: 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM

• Hybrid schedule with an office in Ayala, Makati

You Should Have

• A qualifying or in-progress bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field.

• A knowledge of agile development styles.

• An interest in ensuring quality testing as a key part of the software development lifecycle

• Strong communication skills with all the key stakeholders to ensure the QA vision is understood and implemented correctly.

• Attention to detail ensures all your tasks are completed to the standards of engineer leads and business’ specifications.

• Problem-solving skills help you find solutions if you are struggling to meet the required quality standards. A combination of creativity, logic, and critical thinking can serve you well when challenges arise in your duties.

Bonus Points

• Experience in hands-on QA background in manual testing.

• Experience in using Robot Framework or Selenium

• Experience working with engineers, and have a decent understanding of web tech stacks (backend, frontend, and everything in between).

• Experience in a startup environment.

• Experience working with a remote team.

• Experience working in the legal services industry.
